Applied very late in the game- heard back about two weeks after submitted to SOPHAS for MPH in HPM. Accepted to 3/3 schools for HPM (George Washington, Emory, BU) within a month of submission. Will be attending George Washington for its emphasis on policy and strong federal connection.

Reach school. Low GRE, low-ish cGPA, not the best candidate. Admissions sent an email implying I had been accepted, only to have a second email come a few hours later retracting the first email. Mistakes happen, but that crushed me pretty bad. Waited a week after that email to reject me.

No earthly idea how this happened. Seems they place a high value on real-life development experience and look beyond GPAs, etc. Seems like a great program, spoke to the director and he seems like an amazing guy. Also two mandatory field practicums... definitely an attraction. Never thought I would willingly move to the South, but you cant have it all, right?
