To the students who are admitted and have better offers, it will be kind of you if you please reject the offer asap

Got the letter of acceptance into the PhD program through email. International Accepts are expected in the coming 1-2 weeks.

I applied with a BA in Liberal Arts and several semesters of engineering courses. Was hoping to complete undergrad through open university and then getting my MS.

Saw some rejections here some days back and I mailed Cindy. Her response is that the Admissions Committee was still reviewing applications, and I should expect it will be some time yet before all final decisions will be made. Why is the review taking so long and how has admits and reject gone out already without a complete review. These schools never stop befuddling me.

To the Cornell Posters below, You probably won't hear anything until after their visit weekend which comes up next week. Most PhD decisions were made in January. All the best.

To the poster below: Columbia has their visit weekend next week, so if they do plan to extend more offers after people turn down, I would expect them to be made some time closer to the April 15th deadline. This is all speculation though.

I did my visit two weekends ago and just turned down my offer this week. It seems like the department is sending out more offers in the weeks coming based on a follow up email asking for my decision.

To the person who posted about waitlist from Cornell: Did the department informed you that you are waitlisted?

has anyone heard anything about Rutgers?! I heard all the faculty members are on a strike!

No email. Just checked the website and the generic rejection letter. Had anyone got admitted contacted any of the faculties before you applied?

Any intl students hear anything yet? The waiting is killing me. They don't seem to be replying to emails either. The deadlines for accepting other offers is fast approaching, and these guys seem to not bother in the least.

To OP below: Cindy, Graduate Coordinator, sent me an email about the decision. Just wait for a bit longer, then they will send you the decision.

Had to check website for rejection letter, no email notification. Never expect to get in anyway.

At least got a decision after waiting for 2-3 days since the status changed to "Dept. Decision Made". 4A, 1W, 4R till now. Waiting to hear from Columbia and Cornell!
