HCI-focused applicant that posted earlier about receiving a rejection email in March. Received an acceptance letter over a week later, and it turns out the rejection was a mistake due to error. Already accepted another offer since I thought I was rejected, so if Irvine is one of your top choices wait closer to the Apr 15th deadline before deciding since they sent out the acceptance early April.

Have any other poetry applicants received their rejections yet? Are they going to send them at all? Obviously, I've seen the writing on the door by now but I hate to be left hanging. Should I just call...? Also waiting for a rejection from BGSU 0a/0w/3r/2waiting

Talked to Prof. Patrick Guidotti a day ago. Said 2nd round will be in one or two weeks. I am doing applied math and if anyone does not plan to go I hope you could decline soon, since it's my top choice

Anyone still expecting results? It is already April ggggg Why so late?

I am also waiting to hear back from UCI. I did email them twice to ask about the time frame they are going to release the decisions, but no answers yet!

To the Asker: I mentioned the Profs I wanted to work with in my SOP, mailed them before and after application. I appeared in a Skype interview (with a Prof. from Graduate Committee) in mid February.

I concur with the poster below. UCI is not looking for HCI specialists for the MS in Information at the School of Information and Computer Science. Avoid applying here.

Undergrad GPA 8.3 from one of the top schools in India. 7 month research experience. Strong SOP. Decent LORs

(gpa is Grad) To the poster below. If you see the pattern from last years, they tend to send some "unofficial" emails early February, and generic rejections late March/Early April. Maybe this week we'll hear something from them. I thought it was my safety and had great fit, but whatevs. No Cali for me.

Admitted to more highly ranked programs in HCI. Previous applicants reported being rejected from Irvine as well, so if anyone applying in future years reads this, note that the department may not be looking for HCI specialists for their MS program.
