To the people asking about Harvard, they sent out requests for interviews for finalists about three weeks ago and held interviews last week and the week before (I had an interview Thursday of last week). They will make decisions within the next two weeks or so.

To the Harvard poster: on the result page there is one interview post and one offer post. I also apply to Harvard and like you, still haven’t heard anything from the department. 100% sure it is going to be rejection since not all applicants use this forum and some people also don’t post their results. At this moment, no news equal to bad news.

Have been very upset already when I knew I was not invited to the interview, so pretty calm when I read this update from the application website. MIT is hard anyway. Formal rejection letter will be sent out by March 9.

Application status on portal was finally updated and now says "We regret we were unable to admit you."

Email said only three students were accepted into the program this cycle because of funding.

Conditional on achieving a GPA of 90% or above in current degree.

This message on website: Feb. 3 update: Our admissions committee has extended interview invitations to everyone whom we anticipate interviewing, and we have now received confirmation of receipt from all of them. We will most likely admit from this pool of applicants, but are not sending out final admissions decisions to the rest of the applicants in case the committee decides to extend interview invitations to a few more applicants. We expect to email final notifications to those who were not interviewed by March 9.

Notified prior to "official" decision by professor who I had been in contact with multiple times. A little confused, based on how receptive the department (and multiple faculty) had been to my research interests/fit in the department. Professor said they had pretty high numbers this year and had to choose students who fit better into their program.

Interview invite from 2 POI's. Really excited as Brandeis just started accepting students for the doctoral program who didn't do their MAs at Brandeis.
