Generic rejection letter. Was expecting it, since acceptances went out last week. I have other offers that will probably be a better fit, so not too bummed.

"Thank you for applying to Princeton University's Graduate School for the 2021-22 academic year. While I assure you that the materials you submitted were carefully reviewed by the faculty in the Department of History, I regret to inform you that the department did not recommend your admission for the coming academic year. The number of admission offers available at Princeton for entering graduate students is extremely limited, and we cannot offer admission to all applicants who are well qualified. Indeed, many departments consistently have applicants who would be admitted without hesitation if additional resources were available. Our decisions take into account not only the applicants' merits but also the suitability of the programs to the candidates' expressed interests. Our goal is to achieve a sound match between the strengths of our programs and the interests of the relatively small number of outstanding students that can be accommodated. Unfortunately, due to the volume of applications which we receive, it is not possible for the department or the Graduate School to go back and review applications to justify the denial or offer advice on fortifying a future application. I wish you success in your plans for graduate study and thank you for considering Princeton University."

To the Princeton interview post: would you mind sharing if you were interviewed by POI or by the Admission Committee? Did they let you know when you would hear back? Many thanks!

I already had my interview about a month ago. But yes, it's relatively late, so I got in touch with poi to ask whether they had already notified the accepted candidates, or whether there was still hope. Poi let me know that they haven't notified candidates yet

Was trying in top 20 Qs ranked Universities in the world. Ow well, better try again. I was going for 2nd masters, with IELTS 7.5, no GRE, no publications, 1 year work experience.

Gotcha thanks! It does seem awfully late to release decisions for them. Did you hear from an interview?

Generic rejection email

poi let me know that they will send all decisions no later than Wednesday

Has anyone heard any news?

It worth the try but... oh well.
