Final year undergrad from a UK university. GPA: 3.8, research and internship experience but no pubs. Now to see how much funding they offer

Hoping this converts, but I thankfully have NSOE in the bag.

So bummed to get this rejection.

1.5 yrs work experience post undergrad, clear SOP and had a compelling "why Yale" explanation. Faculty a good fit, strong letters of Rec from references. 3.8 gpa no GRE (not required) Funding info on March 10.

Applied straight from undergrad with lots of intern experience, strong letters of rec and a solid SOP. Spoke with faculty before applying. Can't believe I actually got in.

My dream program and so this really hurts, but it isn't surprising as I graduated last year (from a non-prestige state school). Applied for Environmental Justice as well as Policy. Accepted to Duke Nicholas & Michigan SEAS.

Graduated in June 2020 so not surprised as they prefer more mature students.

Interviewed with them in late Jan. They made it sound informal/casual beforehand and in reality it really wasn't very!

At least now I know for sure! Kinda figured since they hadn't said anything to me before today.

Rejected without having been interviewed. Congrats to those that got offers!

Got an email to check portal, and there lay the rejection letter :p

Was told prior over the phone that they were facing lots of issues with funding this year and had to limit their offers...

Did not take the GRE. Post-interview notification!

TTPB: I didn't apply to comp lit (although that was my original plan), but just in case this information might be helpful, as far as I know, no one at Yale's comp lit program is *really doing film. My sense is that they're literature heavy. It might help that anyone who wants to apply to comp lit as the home department in the future (whose research is mostly film studies) check with them first before applying. I also do not think you should count yourself out. It seems like PhD admission can be at least somewhat subjective depending on your research interests, etc.

I lol'd at myself for having the audacity to apply here so this isn't the greatest shock.

I don't know what to say. On a side note, I interviewed with them in January.
