To the post below: I completely understand your situation. But let's wait. At least, Universities in Italy are transparent in that they not only inform on the acceptance/rejection, but they also provide applicant's score and rank as well, which could most possibly be out any day next week [as informed in the interview].

To the post below: Even if you were not invited for an interview, the selection criteria does not consider any points from the interview (at least, that is what the official call mentions - also someone below, previously wrote about it). I had an interview, and I felt like the interview was only to get a feel of the candidate's general attitude and to have a basic idea of whether they would willing to work with the candidate. It was just a normal discussion of research interests, academic fit and general conversation on how the Phd caters to what you want to achieve.

Feeling a bit discouraged that I have not been invited for an interview- it seems as if my chances of admission may be low at this point :( Does anyone who participated in an interview (for the PhD in Social and Political Science) have insight re: the interview purpose & what was discussed?

Tough shot

GPA is grad. Absolutely crushed, this was a top choice for me and a perfect fit. 1a/1w/9r/4ir/11p

Received an email saying I was recommended for admission 2/9, official acceptance came via website 2/15

Accepted via email 2 weeks after applying, $5000/year scholarship

4a/4r/1wl/10p

I asked the P.I that I talked with them before. Congrats to everyone who got the admission.

not a surprise

Thank you for your application to the graduate program at the California Institute of Technology. After carefully reviewing your application, the faculty has decided that they are unable to grant you admission. As you know, Caltech is a small school and as such we are able to admit only a small percentage of the applicants who apply each year. In many cases we are unable to offer admission to highly qualified candidates because of limited space and facilities, or because interests don't perfectly fit with the needs and research focus of our faculty. Your record and qualifications are very good, and we have no doubt of your ability to earn an advanced degree and that you will have a successful career. We wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors. Best Regards, Caltech Graduate Studies

GPA is grad. 2 years of RA, 2 publications. Dream school but to be honest not a perfect fit for research interest, so not totally unexpected and not so sad. Good luck to all accepted!

GPA Grad and UG, multiple RA. T15 US Masters. Likely a poor fit.
