To the applicant who got invited to interview as an international student, could you share a bit more of your background and research experience?

Super upset...4 strong LOR, 3 summers of intensive research, 3 upcoming publications, relevant research...guessing they are looking for students from top schools or students with Master's degrees.

Rejected an very upset. Could someone share anything about the acceptance rate ( international) to stem cell program?

To the person asking prior, I do think it looked like a mass email from the admission head’s email (only personalization was the first and last name).

1.5 years of relevant research in undergrad, and two summers. 1.5 years (so far) of relevant research post-grad; strong LORs; one 1st author paper in prep and one co-first author pub just submitted Interview weekends are Feb 7-8 and Feb 21-22

4 yrs research experience (1.5 yrs undergraduate, 2.5 yrs full-time); Strong LORs; 3 publications (2 co-author, 1 first-author in preparation); Several conference/poster presentations

Expected; don't have a strong background in neuroscience and UCSF doesn't have very much by way of faculty doing what I mentioned being interested in. Think it would've been a poor fit, so I'm glad people who are a better fit got the interview offers. Mostly just applied because I automatically got a fee waiver for being an EXROP alumni. I know this would happen since they accept a very small number of international students(international unfriendly). However, it's a great school. Worth a try.

I knew this would happen cause they only accept one international student. I guess they screened internationals differently that every aspect of an international applicant should be strong to pass the screen.
