Personal email from POI. Post-interview.

POI, who is also the DCT, said that he does not have funding to accept a student this year

POI will not be taking any students this year.

Email from POI today. Not accepting student after all.

Personal note from POI indicating that they would in fact be unable to take a student this year despite indications previously to the contrary. Disappointing!

POI wanted me, admissions committee didn't. Tough crowd. Best of luck to all other applicants.

Contacted the PI of the lab and was told that I would not get interview or admission.

Different professor from POI contacted me to address some weaknesses in my application and to see if I would be interested in his lab. Skype interview today. Admissions committee meets tomorrow.

Emailed about setting up phone interview on Monday. (Not my first choice POI...)

Invited for a phone interview this weekend!!

Set up a phone interview. No official interview weekend.

Contacted by email for a phone interview.

POI emailed to set up a phone interview for 1/21 or 1/22. Have been in contact w/this researcher before, though, so may just be a courtesy interview of sorts :)

Email invitation from POI to come for an interview (interviews appear to be self-scheduled as opposed to there being an official weekend).
