0a/0w/2p/6r This was my top program. Pretty disappointed by this result.

Original call was 3/3 but I missed the call, spoke on 3/5.

Email said final notifications would go out the week of March 18th.

email to check portal. I was waiting for this rejection tbh as I knew they had already sent out acceptances & waitlists a while back.

English minor, health allied major. Had some excellent recommendations and a strong resume (volunteered teaching creative writing to high schoolers, some publication history). I did specifically mention wanting to write with Rita Dove, but heard later from a mentor that apparently her health is suffering right now and she is not teaching very actively, which may have affected their consideration. They were my #4 school.

English minor, health allied major. Had some excellent recommendations and a strong resume (volunteered teaching creative writing to high schoolers, some publication history). I did screw up the critique essay-- the prompt on the website and the prompt in the application form were different and I had written based on what was on the website (analyzed someone else's work rather than my own). Attached an apology letter to the front of the critique explaining the situation. Not sure if this was what caused the rejection or if they just didn't really vibe with my sample. They were my #5 school.

Email from Karl Kirchwey w/Robert Pinsky and admin CC'd.

*IGNORE INTERVIEW* has anyone heard from the University of Cincinnati about the PhD in poetry? I've heard from all the other programs that I applied to, so I'm just waiting on this notification. Good luck all!
