Finally. A long rejection mail, almost the longest that I have ever received. They even encourage us to re-apply next time. XD Interesting.

Last admission decision. This was my dream school :(

Undergraduate in Physics from Canadian University. Held about a ~3.9 average in my final 3 years (First 2-3 years dragged CGPA down heavily). Finishing up Master's in Physics at time of application with roughly a ~3.95 GPA. Research Experience in Physics, 3 good (possibly excellent) LOR's and few extracurriculars in Hackathons / Mathematical Modelling competitions. Applied for DS stream and received email request on April 3 for a technical interview. The interview ended up testing CS background, which I personally felt that I did quite well in (I took grad level Data Structures and Algorithms course last Fall and received an A+ in, from which we discussed the topics for a bit). Was told that the results will be finalized around April 15th but unfortunately got rejected. Congrats to those that made it!

Hello, I am an international student applying for a PhD for the CS program. I have submitted my application since 18th of Dec. 2018 and my application is still under review. I tried to send an email to PG and they told me that they will send us our status by the end of April. My question to the successful candidates did you receive an email with an interview request or you were admitted without interviews? TIA

Rejected without no interview. Good GPA. Graduated from a UIUC-level US university . Multiple research experience, several leaderships including two software companies' founder. It is certainly not a good experience. Right after the deadline, I sent multiple emails to a POI but never get response. Whenever I send an email to the admission, my email got forwarded and replied with a generic email. I also applied the MSc program, and I heard multiple people saying that the school don't accept international student this year because they don't want to fund the higher tuition. It was very risky since I have only applied two schools. But luckily, I'm going to Oxford instead.

International (US) direct PhD admit. Past research experience, no pubs, good LORs. I am not the strongest applicant, but I connected with a prof. with a good research fit. Professors make the offers at UofT, so connecting prior to applying will have SIGNIFICANT impact on the outcome. As expected

Decided to attend a program in Carnegie Mellon that is not CS instead.

Spoke with the admissions office yesterday, they are planning to send decisions by the end of this week/month. I haven't been accepted or rejected yet, and their official standing is "all applications that haven't been sent a response are still under consideration". Canadian domestic applicant.

After following up with them, got a response from Claire ( [email protected] ) saying that she cannot reveal the outcome but recommends that I prioritize any other offers I have at this point, which basically means I am rejected.
