Great grades, good letters of recommendation and SOP

Accepted to the program at March 4th, awarded ESOP today (March 18th).

It was a dream college and I don't have any publications, so this was expected.

To the ETH poster below, I'm the person rejected with the high scores in the GRE and TOEFL. I have a 9.5/10 GPA from a decent university in India (not IIT, but definitely a top central university) in CS, a publication, two other research experiences, a completely ML focused profile with lots of projects and was applying to CS at ETH. It fits every criteria you mentioned. I'm sorry if it's rude, but six rejections will do that to you, especially after all the studying for the GRE it took to get the score that suddenly doesn't matter anymore. 4 out of the other 5 colleges that rejected me were US ones, so even when you say that the scores are a US thing, that doesn't seem true. Not everyone has the resources or infrastructure around them to get published in NIPS or ICLR during undergrad, and that shouldn't preclude them from getting a research masters degree. A PhD, maybe, but definitely not the degree in which you actually learn how to do proper research.

To the poster below with GRE 335 and toefl 116. Thats really very weird to have been rejected with that profile. Can u think of any reason? I got accepted without GRE and TOEFL score of 98.

Rejected for the direct doctorate, but accepted for the masters. Any ideas about the funding situation in this case?

Applied for direct doctorate. Got rejected in that but accepted for masters in computer science. Good profile. Double gold medalist from my college.

Expected. Top 10% of my school with research and industry internships. Had great SOP and decent (I think) letters. Probably they're looking for crazy GPAs that's it.

To the posters below, when did your application was forward?

Was hopeful for this, seeing other profiles worse than mine selected. 335 GRE, 116 TOEFL, 9.5 GPA from a decent Indian University. One publication, two other research experiences, and three industry internships, including one in Data Science at a top Indian fintech startup.

9.35 GPA at a Romanian university, no GRE, one very good and one decent LOR, no publications, almost 2 years work experience at a Big 4, very good Cambridge score. If I were to make a guess I would say my grades in math weighed me down the most.
