Man... What's the point of sending out rejections at 3 AM, EST, APRIL 10TH??? 凸^-^凸

Just informed rejections. Not even a waitlist. I emailed them asking about timelines a while ago; no one emailed me back for weeks until this response: “Our Director of Graduate Studies has asked me to convey the following to you: We appreciate your interest in our program. We have made our initial round of offers and unfortunately you were not among them. We will not close the admissions process until we finalize all admissions decisions, but you should look to your other options at this point. Our applications were particularly strong this year, and we had to make several tough decisions. We think you have a lot to offer a graduate program, and we hope you are able to pursue one that is right for you.” Luckily I already made my decisions, but it seems like so late to leave people hanging (not even the waitlist! Just regular rejections!)

I applied in a rush because my parent pressured me to take the earliest admission possible. After finishing my English proficiency test on March 25th, I began to take action to submit my applications on the same day, but due to technical issues leading to non-existent communication with my professor before the deadline, I wasn't able to submit everything by April 1st, and after fulfilling LOR yesterday, I asked for a review from the administration and received a rejection 10 minutes after. I would like to have more insights into my case, whether it is because of my late submission of the documents, my application itself, etc., to improve on future applications.

B Tech 9.2 gpa from tier3 college. no workex.

Contacted admissions; was informed via personal email that the cohort is not yet finalized, but I am not expected to receive an offer.

You currently are on the waitlist. The Graduate Admission Committee has not pulled anyone from the waitlist yet. The deadline for accepting an offer is April 15th. I would say that if you haven’t received an offer letter from our department by April 15th, then you would have been moved to the deny list.

Rejected to MSCS. Two 4 months research positions in AI/ML. 1 Lightning talk presentation at USC. 1 Journal paper under review for Q1 smart manufacturing journal.

Terrible program, completely lacking in credibility. I interviewed two weeks ago and they told me the result will be available in two days, but I received updates until today. They gave me offer at 12:00 pm (EST) and recommended me to accept it soon (although in the email they said the offer will be kept until 4.15). I would like to decline it, but when I log in the portal at 7:00 pm EST, the offer was rescinded and became waitlist again, it is still afternoon in California at the time! A 7-hour offer, what are they doing? I emailed them that I will decline. Glad that I didn't accept this offer.

Had a 15-minute interview with PI at the end of January.

To the GSU applicant asking below: No, no updates. I've emailed their director as well as just the program and the graduate studies -- no response. Also, called yesterday, and someone (who I assume was just a student in the graduate center or something) just told me they couldn't know any update, and the only option is just to wait lol. This is so strange!!!
