Email to check portal, generic rejection letter. Not enough full time research experience so was expected.

Email from the program director. Not sure if this was a wave or not. My interview date was Jan 17. I think they have another interview date that's coming up in early February. When I talked to current students during my interview, they told me that they aim for a class of 6, and send double the number of offers, and they try to accept kids from both interview dates.

MS thesis in biology, one year research experience in neuroscience lab, 4 conference papers

It was a long shot. Low GPA because of health reasons but lots of research experience. Email to check portal and generic rejection.

Phone call from program director letting me know that the official offer is in the mail! I interviewed in the first session last weekend.
