Has anyone who applied to the arch or bio track heard anything or know when we are supposed to hear about acceptances or being waitlisted?

To the poster below: Yes, applying as theory is generally hard. Especially if you are applying for strings (Hep-th) or topological insulator theory(CMT) stuff.

Decent GPA Top UG School guy below got rejected from UC, even with 3 strong LoR... Is applying as CMT that hard? I am scared now. Why theory is so competitive

Emailed dept. for status. They updated website.

CMT/quantum information theory. 3.6 GPA at a top school, 3 years undergrad research, 1 first author publication in submission, 3 strong LoR. Kinda expected at this point but still stings.

To the poster below - have you already received an invitation to the in-person interview?

BIT Mesra, CS. 76.4%. 2.5 years in MNC.1 research. 1 internship. ACM ICPC regional finalist.

Skype interviews were held in February, the finalists are being interviewed in person late March.

Evidently rejected from the PhD, as I received a strangely phrased acceptance to the MA instead. The offer is unfunded and I immediately declined as I have already accepted a PhD offer at Harvard.

Admitted on 1/10, interviewed on 1/28, received the financial package on 3/08. 2500/mo TA + 2000 one time scholarship

Received Email. Status updated in portal shortly after. No details about funding yet.
