Masters in applied linguistics but minimal computer science experience

Linguistics major at top public university with research experience in my university's labs. I have a strong linguistics background but very little CS background. I suppose I should have taken more CS classes and worked harder on my essay. Got into Brandeis so I'll attend there.

Linguistics undergrad, 6 years NLP-related industry experience

emailed me at 10:00 p.m. yet they "regret to inform me". seems like they couldn't wait. i failed a few classes in undergrad/don't have much of a CS background so I'm not surprised but I thought my research assistantship in compling and good grades in my linguistics major could get me in. My gf really wanted to move to Seattle :(

CS graduate from Tier1 institute in India. Work ex-close to 2 years as SDE@United Health Group. Publications in conferences such as NAACL-HLT, AAAI, ICWSM, ACL workshops with first author ones. LOR's from Prof at IIITD and Research Scientist @Bloomeerg, New York. Still, the profile was rejected. Extremely disappointed in the selection process. Not sure where we are getting with this or if they are mocking me on April Fool's day.

CS undergrad, 8.32/10, three papers in machine learning out of which one of them is NLP.

Cs graduate, 7 months work experience on machine learning for NLP, Graduation project on text processing and machine learning.

Did not receive funding for MS thesis option.

If anyone is not planning on accepting UW, I would appreciate you releasing your spot!

TTPB. I think UW is really trying to push the limit of their admission process in a sense that they don't want to accept a single more student if he/she is not absolute indispensable. I guess the reason why the admission process took so long is because they're waiting response from some other students that they've sent offer to. We, who are on the waitlist, are basically waiting for those students' rejection response, or otherwise, it's gonna be a "rejection" for us. Fortunately, since there is the "April 15 resolution", I guess all students should make their decisions before that, which means we'll also get our results by that date.

Construction, Energy, and Sustainable Infrastructure

Anyone heard from UW? Its March 31st already. Is it just going to be rejection at this point? :(
