Had previously received insight from a high-ranking professor (who agreed to support my application) that this year's admissions cycle would give priority to the department's newer professors looking to bulk up their advising over all others (COVID funding limitations). The preferences of more established professors would be put on the back burner and only be given consideration if there was extra room. Evidently, there was no room for me. | ||||
