TTPB: that shouldn't be correct, I had an interview last week with a PI, and she said I am the second person whom she has interviewed with and she will continue to have more in the two or three weeks. Don't lose hope and keep contacting your PI.

TTPB: My friend who is actively contacting her POI was told that more than 90% of decisions had been notified until the last week and those small remaining positions are reserved for their own UG students.

I applied for PhD in ECE, but they rejected me for that and offered me Masters admission. won't be accepting as I have better PhD offers.

avg GPA, multiple first author publications, great letters of rec including one from a well known prof at Berkeley. i think my GPA screwed up my chances :(

Accepted by program/Dept. with TA funding and tuition waiver. "We have recommended to the Graduate School that you be admitted to join the PhD program in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering". Have an interview with PI in the coming days.

I had applied to DICE, was interviewed in Jan. Don't lose hope. Results are rolling. In previous years, a few admits had come out in March as well.

Any idea what's happening? I don't see any admits or rejects.

TTPB: Didn't you attend the first session? It said the offer letters will be sent out on 26th Feb. Btw, what's your research area?

Was in touch with a prof but I knew I wasn't gonna get in. Competition is just too high, can only apply again or go to another place.

no interview yet. POI said he will make the final decision in a few days.

have a good time on the virtual campus visit. Nice interviews with POI and one other professor. Wonder when they will send the official letter

Saw it coming when I wasn't called for interviews... I should have applied to Mech. Made a serious mistake going for EECS. As a matter of fact, I don't think Berkeley was my place after all. Of all the schools I had applied to, Berkeley and SF as a whole were the most radical university locations. Being a center-rightist, I wouldn't have fit in at Berkeley. I should have thought of this before wasting $140 on this school. Also, to anyone who's applying in the future, Berkeley doesn't care about your research or crap! They just want you to be a freakin' topper at your university. They've got a mindset that toppers can do wonders. Well, let them have the toppers! The smart universities (MIT, Stanford) who also consider research experience will have the intelligent researchers!
