has anyone tried to email the school? it's taking way too long. Last year the (acceptance) decisions came out the second week of March

Got an email around 12:50PM IST stating an update has been posted on the portal.

I'm the one received message from POI told offers are finalized. Chances are quite low for rest of us, but it is not impossible. People get accepted may decline the offer, then prof has to give offers to other students in his shortlist.

I am the poster below for USC. I was interview 2 weeks ago, from ISI school of USC, professor told me USC is behind the schedule this cycle, got email from the professor yesterday about the decision. So I think they might be still sending offers.

TTPB: Can we freely choose any of the three options without any extra requirements? In my current institution, all students are course-only by default, and only top students are allowed to submit their requests to switch to the project/thesis option.

Got email at 630AM IST. TTPB With UCSB Admit: What do you mean by guaranteed project or thesis option? Isn't that up to us to choose?

TTPB: Same here. Haven't heard anything from USC.

I am wondering if a project option or a thesis option can be guaranteed.

TTPB: Is USC still sending out decisions? One post said they've already finalized admissions. I'm not sure whether to lose hope yet.

Got Email from POI, offer coming in next week

TTPB: The person who said that the results were released on March 13th is a troll. Going by the timeline of last year's release and the department release history, it is most likely that the results will release this Thursday, March 19th as they tend to do the mass releases on Thursdays. If they do not come this Thursday, my guess would be that the current pandemic is causing a delay and that they will release next Thursday, March 26th.

TTPB: I guess they are still reviewing the applications so there is hope. You need not be overtly worried about your late LOR. Even one of my LORs was 2 weeks late. Submitted on Dec 30 to be precise. I got an admit on 28th Feb.

TTPB: I had my LORs in way before due date, Dec 2. I submitted application a day earlier on Dec 15 since Dec 16 was full working day for me. research area - cognitive science

TTPB: Congrats!!. Could you please tell me when did you apply? and when was your application complete(All LORs submitted)? My LORs were submitted late (late January) this is why I'm worried..

Anyone got an idea when EECS Meng will be released? Should be done this time last year...

TTPB for the post just below that about pending documents. I really hope it is what you said, can really use an admit from my _ambitious_ list. I did not imagine waking up to this confusion (opposite timezone).

TTPB: congrats! That means it's an admit :) got my admit on Feb 21, and the same thing happened. The portal first got updated with the "pending documents" section and later in the day, I received the acceptance email
