Checked the portal at 1pm EST. Saw the notification by happenstance. Waitlisted for the MM.

Interview with five professors and was asked to provide further documents after the interviews. Rejection...

My first application, first interview, first waitlist, and first acceptance.

Received an email to check the portal. Pleasantly surprised. 2 years of research experiences -- 1 year of fieldwork, 1 year at the World Bank. Strong letters, including a Yale econ alum. Average GPA.

Just wondering how high the bar of IDE is this year.

5 Years of research experience (Both wet and dry labs). 9 Years of general lab experience. High undergrad and masters GPA. All interviews went very well. One publication with two more being submitted this month.

Strong LORs. One from professor very famous in development, high grades in Econometrics and development classes. Come from a prestigious university in U.S, and 5 months research internship in economic development. However, no full-time experience. I think COVID has sparked a very high application in grad school apps this year.

Somewhat expected, still disappointing.

No email.

Rejection as expected. Wish everyone good luck!
