British applicant to CSE SM. Disappointed because thought I had a strong application profile. Final year Computer Science undergrad at top UK Uni - First Class expected, 85% average so far. Lots of SWE internships at FAANG/HFT in London. Highly relevant and unique extracurriculars, ie online presence and published a book. Shortlisted for funding from Fulbright etc. (decisions not out yet) Felt like I had a good SOP, and very strong LoR. No idea what I was rejected on. No GRE necessary for this program.

summa cum laude from a top Russel Group university in the UK. Humanities, two academic nominations and an award. Work experience in the Middle East, strong LORs, very strong statement and academic record, no GRE

I did an internship in the department and yet was not selected for the program, but it was expected because the PI i worked with did told beforehand that he will not take any students and I did have any interviews or discussions with any other PIs. Nonetheless, congrats to everyone who got in!

Circuits and VLSI. Got an email to check the application portal for the status update. Had emailed POI before applying and he was quite impressed by my profile but maybe not enough to accept my admit.

UG: Top 20 university worldwide. Traditional engineering background but did related final year research project on Pyshics-Informed NN. Worked as SWE for 3.5 years.
