Anyway this is my first admission... quite a tough year. I should have not mentioned it in my SOP that my ultimate goal is financial mathematics...

As far as I know, a pre-doctoral has no specialty. This means, that you enroll, and it is adjusted according to each student's background. I would totally agree with the minority consideration. If you don't belong to specific ethnic groups.. Forget about it.!

They said there's no ranking in the list so I still have some waiting to do. Oh, and they told me this because I asked, so if you are waiting and want to know the status of your application, send an email.
