Got an email notification for an interview on Feb 13th.

Emailed the program assistant to ask if all interview invites were sent, template rejection - "The Graduate Admissions Committee in Biobehavioral Health met and thoroughly evaluated your application for admission into the Ph.D. Program in Biobehavioral Health at Penn State for fall 2023. Decisions were focused on likelihood of success in our graduate program, and were based on multiple criteria, including academic status (e.g., masters or bachelors level preparation), grade point average, letters of recommendation, fit for the BBH department, and match between BBH faculty and student. The Graduate Admissions Committee saw considerable strength in your application. Unfortunately, however, I regret to inform you that your application was not one of those selected for interview or admission. We had a record number of strong applications this year and a limited number of positions available; as a result, we were not able to accept all strong applicants. We do appreciate your interest in our program and wish you every success with your future endeavors. "

Pretty shocked considering I got offers from schools that are much better...

3.4 overall gpa, 3.8 psych gpa.Had an interview in December and got accepted this week.

Received an email from the Program Coordinator regarding an in-person visit on January 19,20 for Fall 2023 intake.

Ignored Admit term. Email from admissions then call from their director same day. It will be 3 days in person, with 6 mini interviews with faculty. BS from TAMUSA 3.52, MS from UTHSCSA. 2 first author publications in prep, RA for ~1 yr. Overall 3-4 yrs research experience from internships and masters program thesis.

No interview, email stated I am recommended for admission and will receive the official offer soon!

This school does not offer a medical focus. Go elsewhere and get actual experience. Internship does not start until second year fall.
