I am an international student with a bachelor of medicine and surgery outside US. 3 publications (one of them in neuroscience), the 4th under review, with several research-related activities.

3 years of research experience (2 full time), 2/3 rec Letters were previous Duke faculty, but low undergrad GPA

Meeting the students on the 14th of January and faculty interview on the 15th of January.

International student. Two MS (Electrical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering, both from the USA.) Two 1st-author journal publications. One US patent. Eight other publications/conference posters. 20 months of research (40hours/week). General rejection email. No interview. Can't say I am not disappointed.

Honestly very surprised considering I've never published and am only a senior undergrad. I reached out to the PI back in September to chat about research interests, so I expect that had something to do with it.

Thrilled to be considered! Received an email from the director of admissions. The only personalized part of the email was the opening/my name. Virtual interviews Jan 25-26 or Feb 8-9.
