Talked to Prof. Patrick Guidotti a day ago. Said 2nd round will be in one or two weeks. I am doing applied math and if anyone does not plan to go I hope you could decline soon, since it's my top choice

I am also waiting to hear back from UCI. I did email them twice to ask about the time frame they are going to release the decisions, but no answers yet!

To the Asker: I mentioned the Profs I wanted to work with in my SOP, mailed them before and after application. I appeared in a Skype interview (with a Prof. from Graduate Committee) in mid February.

Is it normal not to receive any info until now from UCI ? Does this mean rejection ?

I concur with the poster below. UCI is not looking for HCI specialists for the MS in Information at the School of Information and Computer Science. Avoid applying here.

(gpa is Grad) To the poster below. If you see the pattern from last years, they tend to send some "unofficial" emails early February, and generic rejections late March/Early April. Maybe this week we'll hear something from them. I thought it was my safety and had great fit, but whatevs. No Cali for me.

Admitted to more highly ranked programs in HCI. Previous applicants reported being rejected from Irvine as well, so if anyone applying in future years reads this, note that the department may not be looking for HCI specialists for their MS program.

To the Irvine poster below - not as far as I know. I was not contacted by anyone from Irvine, and I do believe they notified waitlisted people. I heard nothing from them until the application tracker was updated. If you were told that you were on a waitlist, and your tracker hasn't changed, I would assume you are still waitlisted. If so, good luck to you!
