Checked website on a whim

Not even an email or a letter. Website reads: "Your application has been reviewed, and the Committee has denied admission." Extremely unprofessional. Thought it was a good fit, I even met with a professor over the summer--asked me to come. Waiting on NYU.

FYI regarding # of people funded this year, from my email with the dept: "We have an unusually small number of funding lines for incoming students this year, with just two offers that can be made, so the waiting list for funding is unfortunately much longer than the funding list. I can tell you that there are about 5-6 people ahead of you on the waiting list, so I think it is unlikely that we will be able to make you a funding offer. "

Accepted but waitlisted for funding.

To fellow Rutgers poster: I was contacted via a short/vague email from the faculty coordinator for my area of concentration, Communication. Did not mention that I wasn't funded, then clarified. Have requested to talk by phone to ask some questions, no response. Admissions website has still not updated to reflect my admission.

Torrey Fellowship for a total of 29k + summer support. Not bad. Hep-th applicant.

Update to below post: Was not funded. Will be notified if funding becomes available.

Nice brief email that I'm admitted and should be receiving more information - no information about funding. This is my #1 choice! Anyone else received word of funding?
