Call from Jacqueline Osherow (on a Saturday!). 4 total poetry students admitted.

I emailed a professor I corresponded with over the summer (after seeing the acceptances here) and found out I was rejected. She was very gracious and kind her response to me. The official notices are forthcoming. They took 4 students all together...

Formal offer of full funding to come next week!

I emailed the grad coordinator and was told I was not accepted. Status on website did not change yet.

Guaranteed 6 years of funding @ +- $14,561

E-mail from Sue Hart (department secretary)--recommended for admission. This is my first-choice school; I'm waiting to hear about funding, but I will likely accept. For those interested in stats: I have an MA in poetry, a few publications and conference presentations, and two years' experience teaching at the college level.

Just checked the website. Didn't get an email or anything, just been obsessively checking it. To be honest, it didn't seem like there was much to the program.

A form letter was viewable on the website.

Completed Creative Writing Honors Program. Studied abroad in Ireland and France for literature and creative writing. Ran college's newspaper. Am a copy editor and writer for an independent zine in Seattle. Was an editor for college's literary arts magazine. Had endorsements from state's poet laureate...so...what else is there to do?

Told me only one person is selected every year.

Eh, I guess they couldn't get past the rough edges in my transcript

Taught English in China, won $100 prize for poetry at my undergrad university, traveled to africa, italy (speak italian), ireland, england, have a 3.5 gpa, and I got rejected :(

I'm so excited!! This was the first program that I've officially heard back from!

So happy!
