Contacted a professor in April 2021, got no response; applied on December 27, 2021; on February 01, 2022, the professor responded to the old email from 2021 asking to schedule a zoom conversation; the conversation was scheduled on Feb. 11th; on Feb. 7th, I got email notification to check the application portal, and found the Graduate School admit. The Feb. 11th conversation went on involving the professor and other two research scientists at the lab; on March 9th, I received an offer letter from the professor for Graduate Research Assistantship to be accepted by April 15th at the latest. | ||||

I've just gotten the acceptance email today that stated to check the portal with a generic admission letter without stating the funding package but just stating that UBC gives a minimum coverage of 20k, tuition is..., living costs, etc. Will I soon receive the funding letter later on? I also need to send my official documents to the university. Is receiving the funding letter contingent on sending my official documents? I'm in a hurry for the funding letter so I can apply to a visa ASAP. Anyone with similar experience kindly let me know! | ||||

Don't apply to this program they will not provide you funding, especially if you are an international student. they basically think that we have money. I have read prior posts on this site and most of 'em do not get funding, which is bad given that the program is PhD | ||||
