I am so thrilled! This is one of my top choices. Emily Rothko said many nice things about my writing. She said she is nominating me for a graduate fellowship so crossing my fingers. I am going to need funding, for sure!

Waitlisted with Paris option. What’s the deal with Paris? Worth leaving wait list? Is it likely the wait list will move?

Waitlisted my 2nd year in a row at NYU, though my sample was conservatively 10000 times better than last. This shit is confusing.

Yikes. I click on "Decision Status" and see "Unfortunately your application into M.F.A. in Writing Seminars has been denied." You would think a WRITING DEPARTMENT would find a more thoughtful way to break the news. Bleh.

Poster below: I assume you have time before making final decisions. Since you've been accepted at multiple programs and waitlisted at fully-funded programs, it seems like you can write! While you wait it out research further funding options. Consider your pre-MFA student debt. If you can swing it, go for it. If you really can't, take this round as confirmation of your ability and wait out another year, take classes, improve your writing, try again December '18 for fully funded programs.
