It was a generic application without any prior approval from any of the faculty members. For PhD in Computer Engineering, don't apply to this university unless you get the green signal from the professor/POI. Today I got the rejection letter as below: Dear X, Thank you for your application to the School of Engineering and Applied Science. We have thoroughly reviewed your application and the supporting documents submitted on your behalf, and considered the evaluation made by the Admission Committee of the PhD program in Computer Engineering. I am sorry to inform you that based on this joint consideration we are unable to approve your admission at this time. Every year we receive a large number of excellent applications for our incoming class of graduate students and are able to offer admission to only a small fraction.
