TTPB: I'm in the same situation. When did you submit your application?

I am sorry to inform you that we cannot offer you admission to the Ph.D. in Computer and Information Science, PhD Program at the University of Pennsylvania for the Fall 2020 term. The competition was highly intense this year, and there were many more highly qualified candidates than we had room to admit. Our decision reflects only the extraordinary range of talents represented in our applicant pool, and it is not a judgment about your own abilities or potential. We appreciate your interest in Penn Engineering and wish you success in all your future endeavors.

Expected. FYI, rejected PhD applicants need to apply separately to their master program before the official deadline in order to get considered. They operate the 2 programs separately and do not allow application cloning.

If I have not received any notification from the PhD program, does that mean a rejection?

Got into the Computer and Information Science, MSE Program. Received an email to check my portal.

I haven't gotten a rejection yet, but I also haven't heard anything. Not sure if this means a waitlist or what. God I hate this waiting game, just put me out of my misery already.

Top 30 US undergrad CS major. Mediocre research and 2 internships but not in tech.

UPenn website mentions that admit/reject will be on a rolling basis. So, we should expect to see many rejects/admits together. Correct me if I am wrong.
