Totally not expecting this! Super grateful! Two full interview days in March.

Just want to go back in time and tell my past self to stop overestimating your profile, you IDIOT!! Why was I even hopeful?

Emailed them two days ago regarding the waitlist status. Replied with: "I am truly sorry to inform you that we are not offering you admission to MIT's Department of Architecture for the Master of Architecture. The number of applicants for admission to the Graduate School greatly exceeds the number that can be accommodated and it has been necessary to refuse admission to some fine applicants." Too bad I couldn't get in. Will be attending Harvard GSD though!

Has anyone heard from MIT about the waitlist?

2 years research experience. 1 summer research internship. Strong letters of recommendation. Rejected by generic email. Mentioned that they received more that 1500 applications for a class of less than 50.

they really waited until the last day--someone told me they sent out the first round of acceptances a while back...already committed to a different school. if they accepted me earlier i would have considered the program more seriously. but between interviews to now, I didn't even get a response from the admin when i asked about the timeline for acceptances

Rejected after being waitlisted.

Generic rejection email (as everyone says here), they apparently accepted 8% out of a pool of talented students bla bla bla, honestly, this was not my first option, I was accepted into the EECS department at MIT, which is by far better, more competitive and has more fascinating research and endowment. I guess I got rejected because of my research background. Happy to join EECS at MIT, the best department yeah :)

i'm sure the point of this survey is not to i) make sarcastic unfunny posts about the waitlist that are borderline classist/racist or ii) express whether you are glad at any certain point (hot take but enjoying someone else's misfortune is pretty negative..)

Anyone else who was notified by MIT? What did the email say?

Previously waitlisted, was notified today that I would not be admitted.

Received an email on March 22 stating that a handful of applications (including mine) have not been released, and that we should hopefully hear back from the program by April 15. Anyone else in the same boat?

Any idea when waitlisted candidates can expect final decisions? I wish they got this over with. Ironically, I saw there was a post for rejection->acceptance last year in April, lol.

TTPB: Admitted off the waitlist. The committee said all the acceptance should be out last Friday Apr. 2nd.

Has anyone on the waitlist heard back?

TTPB, I was previously on the wailist and got the offer yesterday. Had an interview with the PI in January. Really a huge suprise to get admitted.

Did anyone else on the waitlist hear anything back yet? Or also radio silence?
