No interview. Quite amazed! Didn't expect it

MSc from the UK, 8 publications, 10 years of industrial and research experience

Had an interview with 2 POIs in Jan. Felt that the interview went quite well and surprisingly got rejected. Was gonna reject the offer anyway as I already received better acceptances.

TTPB: Congrats on acceptance. Do you mind sharing the initials of PoI?

MS GPA: 3.88/4.00. 4 IEEE transactions and 2 IEEE conference papers published, 2 additional IEEE transactions under review at the time of application. 4+ years of research experience (2 years at MSc level 2+ years with research centers in the academia and industry). Track is power systems. Truth be told, most of the professors in these schools never had profiles like this even after their PhD, so its not unexpected that they'll value more irrelevances such as where you did your undergrad, who your letter writers are and your nationality. Thankfully, I have offers from schools like Georgia tech, so I'm not really perturbed. However, the classical madness that has become order of the day in grad school admission process just has to stop!

Specialisation in Signals and Systems (Control & Signal Processing). Bachelors' in Instrumentation and Control Engineering, NITT, India. CGPA: 9.75 Many relevant courses, 2 signal processing and 8 control courses. One poster publication at a top IEEE conference in signal processing, and a couple of research projects in control theory. Strong LoRs, one from a professor at RWTH-Aachen.

To the poster below, I don't think Purdue University has released decisions for MS in ECE (VLSI Track) yet.

Expected as almost all acceptances came out a month ago. Nano/photonics track.

Anybody heard back recently?

They are just looking for a 3.7+ GPA. Nothing else matters.
