For the posters having 'Eligible for MECPS', the person's name who is sending that email is 'Melanie Kilian' and she is also 'Financial/Contracts & Grant Analyst' for MECPS program. So, yeah she is trying to promote the newly opened program. I do not understand how she is sending the email if I have submitted the application to ICS. Any thoughts ? Meanwhile, I am sending an email to ICS to just confirm what's going on..

I got rejected from MSCS but they recommend me to apply to MECPS. Did they send that to everyone? Also the GATS tracker still shows 'under review'.

They recommended me for a professional program MECPS. Any idea about this course?

Same as below. Got rejected from MSCS. Eligible for admission to their Master of Embedded & Cyber-physical Systems (MECPS) Program. 3 years of relevant experience. Average GPA from top college. I was considering UCI as a safe univ. Sucks.

2 research papers; 1.5 years work experience Received reject but mentioned in the mail: "However, your application was identified as potentially eligible for admission to a related Professional MS program – Master of Embedded & Cyber-physical Systems (MECPS) -- jointly offered by UCI School of Engineering and School of Information & Computer Science"
