I am an international student and have my MA from a Canadian university. I have contacted them and asked about the status of my application and today I got an email that informed me I am on the waitlist since they have only 2 spots for international students in their Ph.D. program I think I should say bye to York.

To the poster asking about UVA after recruitment weekend: I was told that they sent out their first round of admissions and that I have been waitlisted, but only after I emailed them asking for an update. Seems strange that they didn't reach out to folks.

First-class first in my undergrad and have an MA too. Accepted but no funding. Will most likely have to decline. This was my dream school and program but I cannot afford it.

Emailed to check the status of my application, was informed that I was admitted with a large annual Dean's scholarship!

Accepted off the waiting list! Very excited.

Has anyone got any information regarding rejections?

I emailed the graduate coordinator and she informed me that they have offered admission to their first-round picks. Once those people accept/reject they will work their way through the waitlist. Sounds like if you haven't heard from them yet, you're on an unofficial waitlist.

No funding

Received several emails from professors in the Department giving me the good news!

To the poster below: They sent admission to some interviewees a couple of days ago.

2 emails. One auto-generated notified to check the system, and another from graduate school coordinator stating I am rejected.

To the MSU person below, you are most likely waitlisted. I was an undergrad there who also applied this application round and I have the same message as you. I was informed at the end of January that my application was waitlisted. Just to provide some info, as I'm assuming the whole corona situation is going to be extending their decision making process!

Did anyone who interviewed hear back yet?

Emailed the department for an update since the portal shows my application still under review and their department web page says decisions will be made by Mid-March. They emailed back today saying my application was still under review and not with the COVID-19, they probably won't send out final decision until the end of March. I know the MSU has suspended classes until April 20th because of it. I applied to the archaeology department if that helps.

I emailed the program director on march 2nd and they never responded back to me. I went to check the application portal today and saw the decision letter there. I wish they would have notified me in an email or something -- super unprofessional.
