To the students who are interviewed: Did the POI said when you will hear back a decision from CU?

I didn't expect to be accepted due to my not so perfect GPA and PGRE (and being an international). Experimental AMO, no publications, 3 conference posters, did not contact Boulder faculty beforehand. 2 strong ROLs out of 3 (Both were students of Nobel laureate related to AMO but the 3rd one is pretty weak). Research experiences (both AMO and non AMO) since my 1st year in uni.

Accepted w/ no funding offer. Have to go to their GEARRS event for that. Good GPA and GRE w/ 2 years research experience

Funding for 5 years, but students fees are not covered (~ $1000 each semester).

1 publication, 3.6 grad gpa, 4 years of astronomy research

Saw the post below and checked the online portal.

Checked portal- there was a letter with waitlist status.

Got a personalised email this morning from the DGS about my acceptance and cohort size! Exciting.

Was emailed with a notification to check application status. Email began with "I am pleased to inform you..." Fairly misleading lol, but still grateful!

No publications. 3 conference posters. 2 1/2 years astronomy research.

Second year of applying. Still didn't expect to get in, but it stings quite a bit. I feel like I did everything right this past year just to get rejected again.

Four years in a research lab, co-author on one peer-reviewed publication, REU from NSF, REU from NASA, REU from SURF, two conference presentations, one symposium presentation, presumably great LoRs. First rejection of the season but not too hurt because its not like I would be able to afford to live in Boulder on their graduate stipend anyway.
