Super selective program and not a great fit so this was pretty expected. Also, had a LOR from someone who had attended, so it's def competitive!! Congrats to all who got in! 1a/2r/6p

Rhodes Scholar Finalist, perfect gpa, faculty doing my exact research, still no. So far 0 a/3 r/6 p.

Notification to check portal followed by generic rejection letter

Short email to check status, not too bummed! This one was a stretch for my research interests and a selective program to boot! 0a/1r/6p

Two publications, a master's degree, tons of conferences, some high profile awards, one of my recommenders went there and knows the faculty well, and that wasn't even enough to get on the waitlist. Just shows you how random and difficult this process can be. Kudos to all who got in!

GPA undergrad

Attended Cal for undergrad, GPA is MA, no GRE. Pretty short, to the point message. "Thank you very much for applying to the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences at Yale University. I regret to inform you that we are unable to offer you admission. As you know, the very high number of extraordinary candidates far exceeds the number of places we have in each program, and we are not able to admit many excellent candidates. We wish you every success in all your future endeavors."

Received email from professor that I will receive admission :)

I thought I had a chance, I had Strong LORs and decent SOP

Email to check portal. Expected, as I did not interview.

Email to check portal (though there was a ~10 min delay between the email and the portal being updated. Kind but obvious form letter.

probably gonna refuse the waitlist

Got waitlisted by a few programs already... Wish me luck.

Expected to be admitted directly but waitlisted. Yale is my dream school so if those who are admitted have already been offered with better choices, please decline Yale's offer. Thanks in advance.

Email to check the portal. Not so surprised. 3 yrs research in EE , CME and CMT. Apply for CMT, quiet lack of experience in CMT. 2 pubs, no one in CMT field.
