Got an email to check the website for status. I kinda expected it, but still heartbroken :(

Field - Robotics/AI. Interviewed w/ POI in Jan. Applied for MSc. but ended up requesting POI to offer a direct Ph.D. (which he did).

Anyone thinking about declining Utoronto's PhD offer?

Does anyone have any news about this program?

To those who have posted already: I have not received an official letter of admission, but the associate director did reach out to me with some follow-up questions about my application on 02/05. I don't exactly know how common this is, which is annoying because I have already been accepted to other programs. For reference, I applied to and was rejected from the MA program in 2019 and I did not receive the letter until early April (although I had already put two and two together when they rejected my sshrc).

Direct PhD in Computer Science; HCI; No Interview

Expected this as I had not received an interview invite. I emailed to inquire about my application status and was told the recruitment process is ongoing but all shortlisted applicants have been contacted

I am Canadian and have completed an Honours Bachelor of Science.

Graduate GPA 3.75/4.00 (lower due to personal problems, explained in SOP). Only had Single Variable Calculus and Matrix Algebra in undergrad maths. Used MOOCs to take more advanced courses.

Same email as below. International applicant. Does anyone know if UofT has a history of admitting a lot of waitlisted applicants?

Domestic applicant

I wonder how many people U of T put on the waitlist.... It seems that lots of people are waitlisted....

Applied to the direct entry PhD. Wasn't invited to interviews, so was already expecting rejection. Just received a generic letter attached on the portal. Congratulations to everyone who got accepted!
