Weak GRE and mediocre GPA. Have a lot of research experience that made up and LOR’s from top CS school (think MIT, CMU, UCB, Stanford). Goes to show grades aren’t everything!!

No research experience aside from my bachelor's thesis. Bachelor done in a not known university from Latin America.

8 years of work experience in software engineering in very good companies, so clearly they prefer academic achievements much higher.

Generic rejection email. Disappointed.

1.5 YOE in Data Science, strong grades in Mathematics, strong LORs, pretty good essays, and SOPs. Cannot fathom out what went wrong.

Toefl 114, top-tier undergrad CS major(from my country) with various data science project experiences. I did not meet their mathematics requirements, and I think that's the major reason why I was rejected this early. They probably first swiped out everyone who did not qualify their prerequisites. Glad at least they sent out the emails so quickly.

1 short paper, mid author in related field. Data scientist in unrelated industry for 3 years.

To the previous poster (congratulations!), did you receive a form email? And did they update the application page for you? Trying to figure out if I should hold out hope or not.
