Anyone got an offer letter or interview invitation?

Accepted onto the PhD programme in Sociological Studies - just waiting on funding decisions now!

Just got en email from the Director of Graduate Studies.

Master's GPA; I didn't send GREs; email with funding attached. 3a/2p

Holy shit, first acceptance! Straight from undergrad. Offered 2 years of masters program, tuition covered with a 23k stipend. Beyond relieved to have some direction! Going out for cake 💯

Anyone receive an interview invitation or offer letter?

Email to check portal

Emailed to notify me that I was in the "hold" pool. One of my top choices. Hope that there will be some good news.

Didn't even get an email to check portal. Had to manually check to see rejection.

Emailed to notify the rejection, saying that it was an extremely competitive year. Weird that they did not reject in the first round.

Thank you for your applying to the Department of Sociology at the University of Texas at Austin. We regret to inform you that we are not able to offer you admission for fall 2023. It was an extremely competitive year. I'm sorry we don't have better news. Sadly, each year, the number of applications we receive far exceeds the number of students we can accept, and so each year we must make very difficult admissions decisions. We wish you the very best in your future academic endeavors.

Just checked the portal, and saw the decision update. Radio silence otherwise. Shortest announcement ever: "Your application has been reviewed, and the committee has denied admission." Nothing else. I have other offers, but this is literally the rudest thing a department can do.
