I appreciate your interest in graduate study at Illinois. I regret to inform you, however, that our Graduate Admissions Committee did not recommend your admission to doctoral study in the Social-Personality Psychology program area. We have not reached this decision easily. We examined all applications conscientiously, accepting for each program those applicants who appeared to have the greatest potential. As always, and unfortunately, we had to deny admission to many applicants with very strong credentials. I sincerely hope that you will continue your studies at another institution and I wish you success in your career. I am sorry that we were unable to give you a favorable reply to your application for study at Illinois.

Have any Astrophysics/Cosmo hopefuls relieved an update? I have seen a bunch of acceptances but only in CMT/Bio-Physics. Just wondering if Astro profs have sent any acceptances/rejects/wait-list

Is anyone who was accepted planning to accept offers elsewhere? Anyone else who is wait listed hear anything back yet?

2 years of undergraduate research experience + 6 month bachelor's thesis

TTPB: I submitted my application on Dec. 15th, 2020. I think it's just because that I am an undergraduate here and have been working with a faculty here for the past year. None of my friends who are also at UIUC has received an offer from here so far. So be patient I guess and best of luck.

Results to be out by end of this month as per the admission committee

Pretty impersonal, short email. Kind of surprised, but did not have a great fit with any professors there.
