Got a rejection this morning, even though I got accepted last year (rejected cause of no funding), had the support of a supervisor, and finished an Oxford Master with distinction and best thesis in the meantime. No idea what went wrong this year. But also got a funded offer from Cambridge (which actually seemed to me to be the stronger department in terms of current students). So, not too sad but still surprised. | ||||

12 weeks after submission - very disappointed with how badly they treat applicants, no updates, no feedback, just pay and be quiet. Way past their own timeframe for hearing back as well. Congrats to everyone who got in - for those with other rejections: don't despair. Got rejected here, but accepted with full funding a few weeks ago at Cambridge. Go figure. | ||||

Probably didn't help that two of my preferred listed advisors were in other departments (History and Oriental Studies), and the third that was in Politics left Oxford in the middle of the application window.
