TTPB utoronto: Did you receive an interview? Could you share your background?

TTPB: People that got admitted into UofT's Ph.D. CS program: Did you guys applied for the Ph.D.-Direct option or did you hold a master's degree beforehand? Also, what did it say under "Application Status" in the departmental form before it changes to "Accepted" or something like that? Was it "Complete" or was it something else? Finally, the person admitted into Theory track, congratulations!, can you please mention your PoI name? Initials would work :)) Thank you so much!

TTPB: For those who got acceptance from UofT, did you get the official letter or just confirmation from your POI. I have done the interview with POI, and he said he would recommend me to the committees, and the committee will make the final decision. I am wondering is this like a soft rejection? As from previous post, it seems that prof can make the final decision not the committees. Thank you!!

Theory

Had an interview with my favorite POI. After the interview, told me in an Email he would ask the admission committee to give an offer to me.

Had 3 interviews throughout Jan. with 3 of the professors listed in my application. Haven't heard back from any of them so far. One prof told me that first round admits come out from mid-Jan to mid-Feb

Does anyone get some face back from UT after interview with POI? Thanks!

MScAC. UW mechatronics undergrad, no previous research experience, no papers, just co-ops and an interest in RL/machine vision.

Are all MSCAC decisions out, I haven't received anything good or bad, do I still stand a chance?

POI not mentioned in application, invited for a "chat" over zoom. Area: Mobile Computing, HCI

My area is CV/ML. 4 top conference papers.

Email from professor saying he isn’t taking any new students this year. Was the only professor I had applied to. Subject: theory

Interview with POI

Contacted by POI mentioned in my SoP to schedule a Skype call. Got back to me shortly after the interview stating that he will recommend acceptance to the committee. Official results to be expected in 2-3 weeks. Area: AI/ML.

I got three interviews from my first 3 POIs.

Received a list of questions regarding my interest in the lab from POI mentioned in my application (HCI). No follow ups yet.
