22k TA'ship upgraded to about 26k per academic year for an "excellent record," plus a 2k signing bonus. Guaranteed Summer support for the first year, and opportunities after that.

Was a little worried after seeing other offers come in, but I guess the admits are staggered a little bit?

I am sorry to inform you that the Computer Science and Engineering Department at Penn State University was not able to accept you for admission to our graduate program. Due to the large number of applicants who entered our program in the last two years, we were restricted in the number of applicants we could accept for the current academic year. We are limited by both faculty and monetary resources. We can admit only a fraction of the many qualified applicants. Since our decisions were based on faculty specific research needs and due to the large volume of applications we receive, we are unable to provide additional feedback on individual applications. We wish you luck in your pursuit of higher education.

Rejected with 3.5 years of research in industry. Good letters of recommendation from mentors and professors. Good GPA. GRE scores were okay. Two co-authored papers, but no first-author papers. I had talked to two professors I hoped to work with. Did not expect this.

Hi, has anyone received an admit from Penn State University Park for Spring 19?

My Interview is the Jan 31st- Feb. 2nd.

GPA is grad. told funding offers are extended in Feb

3 summers of research experience. no pubs (one on the way).

Two years research experience - one Astronomy related (writing Astrostatistics related software). 1 Strong letter, 1 good letter, 1 mediocre letter. Strong mathematics background.

To the two Penn State comp. lit posters below: Big congrats! Would you mind to disclose which field are you in?

The Director of the program met me on Skype to tell me I was accepted.

First notification, pretty late, haha. I have a JACS paper, which may have helped a lot since PSU usually prefer students with pubs.

From Russia, no int'l degrees or experience, one paper under review (used as a writing sample), strong CV (3 years of top-notch research exp.) and letters, TOEFL 108 / 120. Applied to 5 programs, PSU is first to respond. An informal offer from the head of the graduate department (official is to come in a few weeks), invited for a Skype talk and recruitment event with full coverage. It works, guys! Fingers crossed for you.
