Had given up hope from UBC about an admit due to the delay in the results announcement and was constantly checking gradcafe for any updates from Civil Engineering. Finally got an admit offer today (May 9, 2017) for the Fall 2017 term. Will be accepting it.

I had six journal papers. What is the requirement of this school, after waiting for over six months, i applied last year december.

To the poster on UBC Mechanical posted earlier, when were you notified of your status as "waitlist"? I contacted a prof in December 2016, who mentioned his interest in my application. Unfortunately, he hasn't replied back to my mails till last month. Don't know what's wrong with my application ?

Isnt it a roll-over based process? How can they declare all the results ( Acceptances/Rejections) at the same time ?? Havent heard from anyone about receiving any rejections either! Lets hope we get some news next week!

Mailed them last week. They said all the results will be rolled out in upcoming week. Still haven't heard anything from them.

They have sent out offers to few students. Last week they said they will declare all results in the next few weeks. Has anybody received rejection emails from them yet ? Nobody knows the status too!

I applied to the program in January and despite asking the department many times about the result, they sent me a generic email on 4th of May. Since they charge $162 as the application fee, they need to reply sooner and more specifically. On the other hand the supervisors didn't reply my emails before and after the application. If I knew I didn't have a chance I wouldn't go into so much trouble to pay the fee since I'm in Iran and we are under economical sanctions. I personally expected the university to perform better.

High gpa, references from the department, coop work terms, got rejected anyway.

7.3/10 cGPA from Tier 1 Engg Public university from India. 8 Projects 1 National Award Research Intern IELTS 8 Fuck i am de-motivated.
