Short, polite form letter. Kind of relieved, as I realized after applying that I was not a good fit for the program. 2r/0a/0w/2p. Not hopeful for the pending 2. Plan B already underway: PAYCHECK-MAN and his faithful sidekick, WINE.

*fart noise* IWW offers non-degree summer workshops which sound pretty cool and not super expensive. PS-I was rejected from all programs last year and basically didn't write for 9 months. If anyone is going thru that now, remember what my mentor said: "Keep writing. That's where all the power lies."

Was kind of hoping for at least a waitlist especially since two of my recs graduated from here. Though I'm pretty sure I know what part of my portfolio killed my chances (wrote my second piece in a month because I forgot that Iowa required two). Oh well. I still have choices, so it's not the end of the world. Still a huge bummer though, I really wanted to go here. 2A/2R/0W/3P

This is such an honor! The location and price (out of state) are really the only factors holding me back. I visited during Visit Day and really liked it.

No interview

Has anyone heard (read: accepted) an offer from the University of Iowa?

Saw an incoming call from Iowa City in the middle of a work meeting. Walked out with no explanation. It was John D'Agata. Paranoid that at any moment I'll wake up from this dream.
