This is the rejection week....I got one per day until now

IIT undergrad, 8.6/10 GPA, currently writing a research paper (2nd author) with UIUC professor. Another tier-1 publication (3rd author) with a similar ranking school. Both professors encouraged me for a PhD but I applied for MS instead. Rejected from both schools. I should have applied for a direct PhD. Best of luck to everyone! Bye gradcafe.

Somewhat inappropriate the amount of time they kept us waiting. At least they offered application waivers.

This semester we received a large number of applications for entry into our graduate program. Most of these applicants are well qualified for study and research at the graduate level. However, because of our limited instructional and research facilities we are not able to admit all qualified applicants. We regret to inform you that on the basis of the recommendation of the Graduate Admissions Committee, we are not able to offer you admission to our graduate program. We trust that you will find an alternative path to achieve your academic goals. Sincerely, Prof. Bruce Hajek Department Head Electrical and Computer Engineering University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

Generic rejection email

Dear XXXXX, The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at UW-Madison has recently completed its review of your application for the MS and/or PhD research-based graduate programs for Fall 2020-2021. Unfortunately, due to limited funding and research-advising opportunities, we are not able to offer you admission to these research-based programs. However, your application was also reviewed and considered for our course-based, accelerated MS-Professional program in Electrical and Computer Engineering. We are pleased to offer you admission to this program! The MS-Professional program is designed to deepen your technical knowledge and sharpen professional skills, in preparation for a career in industry. The program provides a practical focus through a course-only curriculum, an accelerated and predictable 16-month completion time, and a professional-development summer session. Due to its accelerated nature, students in the program are not eligible for department-funded positions such as teaching or research assistantships. Please review the details of this MS degree and let us know if you would like to be formally admitted into this program. Best regards, _______________________________________ Graduate Admissions Team Electrical and Computer Engineering

FINALLY, now I don't have to keep refreshing my inbox.

I think most people waiting at this point (including me) are rejections. There's been plenty of people on here that posted acceptances and I also know someone in real life that got the acceptance. Berkeley sends rejections after the admits so this isn't anything new.

I received admit from the EE department on March 11th but no admissions offer from Graduate Admissions Office. The mail from the department has mentioned a deadline to accept the offer by April 15th while I haven't even received it. How many of you have got this email from the graduate admissions office?

TTPB: Could you please share which area track interviewed you? Thank you.

for the user below: I wrote to "[email protected]"

People really weren't kidding about Michigan going up to the last minute

I sent an email to the grad office and they told me the application is still "under review" by the department. I am positive admissions are not over due to the number of people that are still waiting from this website. I think the whole virus situation has affected the usual timeline of the department.

EC82: Signal and Image processing decisions anyone?

Did ece release all admissions?

Communication, Control, and Signal Processing track. Thanks for the admission!
