Second rejection. So it goes.

Second rejection. So it goes.

849 applicants for 25 spots. I was one of the 824.

Just checked it after a friend reported a rejection. They may be starting with the early alphabet and working their way down the list. It was my top choice so I'm pretty bummed.

Shew.

you can "track your status" and view a lovely checklist of why they rejected you. they fill it in with "y"s for "inadequately prepared for advanced study." very tactful.

Sent me a generic email. Letters will be mailed out later this week so people should have them next week.

All admitted students have already been notified. Not sure about the waitlist. Reportedly very short.

formal letters will be going out in the mail at the end of next week

I heard that people had already been notified of acceptance, so I called to confirm. Barbara e-mailed me back, saying that I did not make the final round of applicants. Ouch.

Got an email from David Shields this morning! No word on funding yet-- said there is a waitlist for TAships. Either way I'm stoked.

with a TA and a fellowship :)
