Interview was today, Special Option: Global Avant-Garde

Before submitting the complete application, I had an informal chat with my prospective supervisor, very friendly. She told me that admissions are very competitive because of funding, that only 5-8 student are accepted each year. She made me upload also my PhD project proposal. I'm Italian and my highest degree is from a UK university. My admission status is still "under review"...

I focus on early modern art and JHU offered me a place roughly a week ago (see below). I declined my offer yesterday because I have other offers from Ivy League schools - hope my spot will make someone happy! :)

Received e-mail via preferred advisor, received no funding, will get official letter later

To the person below, the funding is a little strange at the University of Kansas. It seems like you either teach and get funding or you do research and get funding but only when you teach do you get your tuition free. I currently don't have any funding but my PO I assures me that that will change. Not too sure what that means.

Interviewed late January. Applied to one school, accepted at one school. Some publications, but none in academic journals. Art history undergrad. Academic interests pretty deeply aligned with several faculty, including in other departments. I think they're still working on official applyweb notifications. Best wishes to all.
