TTPB from NIT Trichy. Poeple from IITB with a strong research profile and 9.5+ GPA get rejected from UIUC. Considering UIUC as a safe school is a joke lol.

1 publication, 3 decent LORs, CGPA 3.89. Will be joining Wisconsin CS

Disappointed. Ugh well last year as well they sent out rejections on April 1st, so I wasn't really expecting something fun either after this much time.

Absolutely shocked, I considered this as a safe school owing to the high acceptance rate. Applied to a specialization in control. Undergrad from NIT-Trichy, India; Instrumentation and Control Engineering, GPA: 9.75/10 (Rank-2/103) Multiple projects on control theory, 8 control theory courses, including graduate-level ones. Strong LoRs, 2 from professors who taught me more than 3 control courses. Yet I have been rejected :(

EE Undergrad from top NIT, High CG, Area: ML/Vision, (hopefully) strong recos. no interview. had emailed a prof who said he has openings.

Undergrad in EE from IIT, 3 publications and 2 REUs, good GPA and test scores and good LoRs (hopefully). After 3 months of radio silence on PhD (do they have funding issue??), they probably didn't even bother considering my application for an MS. Its a weird season folks.

Anyone has any news about electrical PhD admissions at Michigan state university?

To the post below about stony brooks electrical PhD, thanks for the update! I could not get an interview, so I am assuming rejection at this point. Very curious that no one has been posting regarding electrical PhD at stony brooks 2021 on this forum.
